‘Rescue Christmas’ 2021
The Hometown Resource Center
Every year, as the holidays approach, families around the world gather together to celebrate with festive decorations, feasts of all flavors, and often also an exchange of gifts. What’s easy to forget during these festive times, is the fact that there are many families in the St. Charles community that are struggling just to put food on the table.
The Hometown Resource Center knows some of their clients are going to be struggling during the holidays. We have already had families request assistance for food and toys to make the holiday season special for their children. We are going to need your help in order to get the families in the St. Charles Community though this holiday season.
How Does the Adopt a Family Program Work in 2021?
The Adopt A Family program relies on the generosity of sponsors – either individuals, families, teams, organizations, and/or businesses – who commit to adopting a single family or multiple families. We anticipate having more than 40 families with over 100 children apply for the Adopt a Family Program in 2021.
Families in need will register for the 2021 Adopt a Family Program at the St. Charles Resource Center from November 18 through December 10, 2021.
Then, the sponsor purchases gift cards or donates the funds to purchase gift cards so each family has the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for each child in the family. Each family receives a $25.00 gift card for each child under age 18. We plan to provide gift cards from Target, Walmart and Dollar General, so families can purchase toys and or clothing for their child for Christmas.
Gift Cards and food baskets will be available for pick up by families who register for the Adopt a Family Program, December 15-21, 2021.
Please consider making a donation to help to make the holiday season a little brighter for our local neighbors in need! Donations for ‘Rescue Christmas’ will be accepted from now through December 10, 2021. Please note that your donation is for ‘Rescue Christmas’ when dropping it off or mailing to the Resource Center. You may also make a donation online though the GiveMN.org donor website (givemn.org) and search for ‘Hometown Resource Center’. During the check-out process, right under the amount, you’ll find a drop-down menu for a designation – please select ‘Rescue Christmas’.
We wish you all wonderful Holiday Season and we greatly appreciate your support!
